How to Make House Music (like CAMELPHAT) (FREE Project and Samples Download)

Learn how to make House Music (in the style of CAMELPHAT) in this House Music tutorial.

In this house music production tutorial, I show you how to create house music in the style of English production trio “CAMELPHAT” – from scratch – using only the stock plugins that come with Ableton Live 10 Suite. You can also download the project file and all the samples completely free.

CamelPhat is a British DJ and production duo, consisting of Dave Whelan and Mike Di Scala, formed in Liverpool in 2004. They are best known for the 2017 single “Cola”, which peaked at number 3 in the UK Dance Chart, and at number 18 in the UK Singles Chart. The single was a collaboration with UK dance act Elderbrook and was released on Defected Records.

In 2010, they released their first recordings as CamelPhat on their own label Vice Records. As CamelPhat, the duo initially wore wrestling masks to conceal their identity because they “just wanted the people to judge the music and not us”.

This isn’t only a tutorial on how to make House Music in Ableton Live, though…you can use the same methods in FL Studio or Logic X, to produce your own House Music in the style of CAMELPHAT and other house music artists.

We will go through all the steps, including…

  1. Kick
  2. Bass
  3. Pads
  4. Melody
  5. Arpeggio
  6. Drums
  7. Effects
  8. Atmosphere
